Class Description: 3 hours

The first step to learning how to sew is to learn how to operate a basic sewing machine. This class guides you through understanding the five basic controls on a sewing machine, needle system, how to change a needle, threading, bobbin winding, creating seams, tracing an cutting a pattern, and the fundamental difference between woven and knit textiles.

We include a sewing machine and a kit of sewing supplies for each student to use. Our kit includes: black or white thread, bobbins, machine needles, magnetic seam guide, measuring gauge, tailors chalk for tracing, clips, and pins. Sharp scissors are available for students to borrow and scrap fabric is included for students to practice sewing on.
There is no additional fee to use our sewing machine or supplies. Students are welcome to BYO bring your own machine, too.

Conditions

POLICIES REGARDING REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS, & REBOOKING

Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Once you have enrolled you are holding a space in a class. Space is limited due to our desire to keep our class size small. We ask that you cancel your booking at least 7 days in advance to be able to reschedule with no re-scheduling fees. Cancellation made 2 - 7 days prior to your appointment will incur a rescheduling fee of 50% of the full class value. Cancellation made less than 48 hours will require that you re-purchase the class in order to hold a new date and time. In the event a student cancels less than 48 hours we encourage students to find a friend or family member to take their space in the class.
Please understand our policies apply to all students holding appointments and we can’t make exceptions. These policies ensure we keep our class size small and our class cost reasonably low, and ensure we stay in practice. If we allow students to hold space and reschedule for discounted rates we are slowly doing a disservice to our practice. To ensure we are able to provide our service to the public in the manner in which we so desire these policies will be strictly enforced. We thank you in advance for your understanding, cooperation, and support.
Class fees and course curriculum are subject to change.
